The Treason Show...
review
Mark Brailsford is without a doubt one of Brighton's heroes. He founded, directs and stars in the Treason Show that takes to the stage at Komedia every month.
For the uninitiated, the Treason Show is a topical sketch show that has been unashamedly ripping into both national and local politics since 2000, and it's no surprise that the monthly show still frequently sells out.
The superb cast is backed by sharply scripted sketches and songs from a team of around 30 or 40 writers who meet throughout the month to pitch their ideas and develop themes.
Tonight's show commented on the big issues confronting us such as the rain (Crowded House move over... "everywhere you go, - always take your wellies with you..."), our new Prime Minister (George Bush comments to Gordon Brown, "So you didn't have to win an election to get into power? Great! Me neither!"), the new Seagulls stadium, the Tour de France, BBC's Heroes and just far too much to list here.
It's razor sharp, extremely funny and fantastically good entertainment! Book your tickets early to avoid disappointment... REALBrighton recommends that you get a bunch of friends together and reserve a table so you can share a few bottles of wine while you watch... there can be few better ways to spend an evening in Brighton!
