Uni Challenge 2007...
review
Uni Challenge is without a doubt one of the highlights for Pride clubbers around the country. Now in its eighth year, the event continues to attract a huge crowd - packing the university student union building with gorgeous revellers every time! This year 3,000 clubbers found their way along Oxford Road to enjoy five arenas of clubbing.
The layout was slightly different this year - with the main Federation arena being in the main building rather than out on in the academy (closed for refurbishment), but this didn't make it any less of a treat - with the Federation team putting on a hellova show as expected! We also found our way around to Trade, Hed Kandi who put on a special Queer Kandi night, R&B upstairs at Homiesexual and - well just look at the photos... we were everywhere!
Outside in the smoking room (!) there was the fairground with food and cigarette stands and with plenty of room to mingle and chat with/up friends! They had also laid a stage outside for the early part of the evening to keep the atmosphere alive even out in the open air!
It's hard to explain just how much fun Uni Challenge is - there are just so many different, fabulous things going on at once that the only trouble is deciding just where to go next...

about Manchester Pride
|
Manchester Pride has been around for a number of years, previously in the guise of Mardi Gras, GayFest and the Ab Fab Weekend. In recent years, the organisation has grown significantly, focussed its aims and provided a network for community groups, the City Council and the gay businesses - no mean feat!
