Claiming to take Inspiration from such things as, Damon Vs Liam, Jarvis at the Brits, that Benny Bennassi video and most Importantly the homoerotic Olympic sport favoured by Eastern Europeans and frat boys, The Greco-Roman Soundsystem decided to come down to Brighton for a dirty weekend of sonic wrestling! It all kicked off with them taking over the 8:36 London-Brighton train with Joe Fox performing live!

The Greco-Roman crew led by Joe from Hot Chip and Alex from K7! records specialise in chaotic, last minute parties in New York, London and Berlin. Tonight they came down to take on local boys Henron, Size O Albino and The James Kendal from the musically-challenging-every-now-and-then club that is Lucha Libre.

This unadvertised, unsponsored and under-paid event saw a line-up that Brighton's biggest clubs probably wouldn't be able to match! DJ’s included Hot Chip, Alex !K7, The Black Ghosts and Beauty Skool Dropouts to name a few, with the awesome David E Sugar performing live. DJ’s from alternative clubs D.I.S.C, Fierce and Sweden made me took the second room by storm.

Chaotic and last minute is a complete understatement; the venue was completely unprepared for such a turn-out. There were probably more punters trying to get in tonight than the venue had all year. With a 45-minute queue outside and probably an even longer one at the bar the venue was in panic mode. Especially as the Greco roman boys smashed out most of the lights so you could hardly see anything either!

To add to the chaos, wrestling stars The Hated Heroes (as seen on BBLB) took to the floor for some live wrestling action, dragging in some cocky skinny jean kids for good measure... much to our amusement. Further energetic entertainment came from Metronomy’s much wanted dance troupe The Show Ponies who are well known from their performances on the main stage at this year’s wireless and latitude festivals. They delivered an amazing display of dance and light and left us all hungry for more.

Next party location New York!
