review

Pure electronic dance heaven brought to us in the form of starlet Róisín Murphy, stopped off in Brighton this evening to remind us what good music is all about. Those poor deluded souls who missed out on this for a possible glimpse of Amy Winehouse down at the Brighton Centre this evening should be kicking themselves!

Finally Róisín has gained both the name and respect she’s deserved for such a long time. With the recent release of her highly anticipated second solo offering Overpowered listen with itunes it’s astounding to hear the pure quality of her work really knows no limits. To pick one track out of this album as ‘the’ standout track would be truly difficult, it was however You know me better listen with itunes and Footprints listen with itunes that whipped the audience up into an uncontrollable dance wave right to the very back.

An interesting yet unexpected airing of ‘Forever More’ also went down an absolute treat as she transformed her outfit throughout. As costume changes go, Róisín wins hands down. Her seemingly uncontrollable urge to work her way through as many different items of clothing in such a short space of time, adds extra interest to her already flawless performance.

True stars such as Róisín must be appreciated and nurtured, as her breed is exceptional and unique. If you don’t have the album yet, what are you waiting for?
