Marking the Sussex Beacon's 15th anniversary, and to highlight World AIDS Day - the Beacon took over the Brighton Unitarian Church for an afternoon of events.

The team staged a really interesting exhibition of facts and figures about HIV in the local community, complete with a history of the Beacon and a great TV presentation by students at a school in Lancing. Beacon staff were on hand to answer questions and to offer guidance and help people understand the problems faced by those with HIV.

Just before 4pm, outside in the high winds, red balloons were released for the balloon race - with lots of great prizes to be won... I think my balloon headed straight for the Black Horse pub, but it was a dramatic scene and well worth a quid to take part! The race was sponsored by Dale and the team at Party On Brighton.

Finally, there was a Champagne reception with various speakers including Beacon Patron Dave Lynn, members of the Beacon board and representatives from the Lawson Unit.

The event was sponsored by Cardome, American Express, Ricochet, REALBrighton.com, studiothree, Party On Brighton, RB Design and The Brighton Unitarian Church.
