The Magic Hand...
review
Thursday night at the elegant Drakes Hotel provided a unique opportunity to experience something completely different.
‘The Magic Hand’ is a song cycle and brought together the talents of poet Stephen John Kalinich, Argentinean composer Pablo Escande and performed by Dutch counter-tenor, Sytse Buwalda!
Holidaying in Brighton during 2007, Sytse fell in love with the painting that the song cycle is aptly named after by local artist Julie-Anne Gilburt. The instant spark between singer and writer, led to the creation of this fantastic composition and really captured the imagination of the audience.
This was a sneak preview to what looks to be a fabulous performance in this summer's Brighton Fringe Festival 2008.
