review

It was to be a brief foray into the world of The Great Escape festival so I thought I’d ease myself in with a recommendation from a friend. The Crash, hailing from my friend’s home town of Turku, Finland, started off my night in a very pleasing fashion.

A slick example of guitar pop at its finest, The Crash executed a seamless performance for the packed house at The Volks. With catchy lyrics and the haunting vocals of Teemu Brunila sounding a bit like slightly sedated version of Mika, they captured an audience who like me now want to hear more.

Although The Crash have been around for years, it seems that currently with an emergence of more and more catchy guitar pop hitting the charts, now may be their time for big things this side of Europe.
