review

The PV held their annual screening of Eurovision on their flatscreen and staff were sporting Terry Wogan teeshirts to get everyone into the Eurovision spirit. Special mention must go to Nicholas who managed the ultimate in Eurotrash couture and Nicki's mum who got her baps out of the bread bin for the sheer hell of it.

The crowd was small, but perfectly formed - a whole Spanish group had turned up and created their own cinema in one corner while taking the competition extremely seriously. Complete silence all the way through until their entry, when they erupted into full sing-along mode!

Eurovision 2008 in Brighton

Eurovision 2008 in Brighton

Tonight was Eurovision Song Contest night, surely a highlight in any self-respecting gay man or woman's diary. So it was that Huw and I spend Saturday afternoon fashioning lederhosen out of an old pair of shorts and wondering whether onions or garlic bulbs were easier to string. Not that we were plummeting to the depths of Euro stereotypes at all!

Secreted away upstairs at the Bulldog you'll find some decent sized screenage... perfect for karaoke words of course... but also perfect for showing the Eurovision Song Contest!

The flags were out, the terraces packed and inside everyone was glued to the big screens for the run-down of campery that is Eurovision!

Miss Hap was on hand at the R-Bar, interjecting between songs with lively banter and giving Terry a run for his money! Eurovision on a big screen being personally hosted by a local drag queen is obviously the way forward!

Sally Vate & Cherry Poppin sing Eurovision!

Just because a bar doesn't have a big widescreen telly doesn't mean that it should be excluded from the Eurovision fun! Tonight Sally Vate and Cherry Poppin took punters at The Zone for a trip down Eurovision memory lane singing us classicst like Puppet on a String... Making your Mind Up... and lots more gems! The audience was invited to vote for their favourite Eurovision song! Love it!
