Treason Show : July 08...
review
With a huge team of talented writers behind them, Mark Brailsford and tonight's fabulous cast took to the stage once more, proving that there is never a dull month for news when the Treason Show get their hands on it.
Making the cut this week were songs such as Nelly The Elephant with its revised wording, "Naomi Campbell lost her case on the way to Heathrow airport..." and the Benny Hill classic, "Bernie - he drove the fastest milkfloat in the West" becoming a song about Poor Fern Brittain, "Fernie - she had her stomach stapled by the best!".
Sketches included Richard and Judy's grilling of guest "Bob" (that's Robert Mugabe to the rest of us), proving to all that he's not just a national dictator but also a really funny guy, and Bishop Swap (united in their hatred of women, but unable to agree that Anilingus was one of the Archangels)...
My notes go on with little treats like this, but do the show no justice at all. For a beautifully polished, topical, satirical look at the month's news you'd better get your ticket, reserve your table and get the drinks in...
The Treason Show is every month at Komedia and we can't recommend it highly enough - unless it's sold out when we go to get our tickets in which case it's just rubbish - you'd be a fool to waste your money.
