A hugely successful event that used to take place at The Harlequin, we were delighted to be able to resurrect this very special quiz night that encourages a little friendly competition between the businesses and community groups, as well as a few groups of friends, before the serious business of the big weekend.
Over 22 teams took part in this, rather challenging, quiz hosted by the fabulous Lola Lasagne. Businesses attending included Marine Tavern, VaVavoom, A Bar at the Amsterdam, Ghetto Brighton (formerly Candy Bar), Charles Street Bar, Gscene Magazine, Dynamite Boogaloo, Aldred Associates Limited, New Steine Hotel, The Aquarium Theatre Bar, Wilde Ones International, brightonwave Hotel, Camillindenny Architects, 3Sixty Magazine, The PV at The Jury's Out and Community Groups including Pride in Brighton & Hove, Spectrum and The CIT (Street Party Organising Team).
The trophy went to Wilde Ones International as the winning team - but the top three teams were all extremely close.
We enjoyed cabaret from the wonderful Dave Lynn, music from DJ Ruby Roo and raised a fantastic £439 which goes directly to Pride in Brighton & Hove.
A huge, huge thank you to Dave Lynn, Lola Lasagne and Rupert Ellick for giving up their time for absolutely nothing and to Chris, JP and Mouse at Charles Street who gave the venue for nothing and looked after us admirably. Thanks to all the teams that took part too - it was great to feel a sense of community in the room, alongside a whole lot of cheating....
Watch out for the return of the Challenge next Summer and for Quiz Lite at Winter Pride!
