日本国 CORE for Freedom Youth...
review
The Queenshilling really are a charitable lot... frequently opening their doors and their dancefloor to raise a few bob for those in need and tonight was no exception. The Far East may be currently under the spotlight in a sporting sense, but tonight it was Japan’s turn to influence the theme of tonight‘s CORE; raising money for Freedom Youth’s upcoming trip there.
Greeted at the door by the gorgeously geisha-ed up Ruby Krystal serving champagne and cocktails, we hadn’t graced the Shilling with our presence for a while so we gleefully found our way through the packed club to give you a taste of the night. Daniel Stone manned the decks in his usual high class marathon style, giving both the crowd and the bemasked beauty on stage something to shake their thing to. The obligatory charity raffle gave one lucky clubber an annual club membership, and some lucky bugger even won a body board!
It really was great to see the Shilling as we know and love it, bursting with energy and brimming with lubricated lovelies making good use of the £20 wristbands. With unexpected reunions, 21st birthday celebrations and the sight of new and familiar faces we felt gloriously exhausted by yet another example of why we love a bit of the hardCORE every month and even more when it’s for such a good cause.

The Queenshilling, or ‘Q/S’ as it’s affectionally known in these parts, has been an integral part of Bristol’s Gay scene for many years. Having recently benefited from a swanky refurbishment, the colour and style of the bustling bar area very much reflects the reputation the club upholds as the place to be out and be seen on the Bristol Gay scene.
