The 20th Wolds Aids Day at the QA gave us a star studded cabaret to raise funds for the Sussex Beacon Aids Hospice - expertly hosted by Lola Lasagne.
Lola gave us a taste of her normal acerbic wit and also her rendition of some good old standards. Next up was the incomparable Miss Jason with her madcap ramblings followed by the lovely Davina Sparkle who again stepped in a short notice to perform.
The champion of Pride all over the country and the first up for all charity events is that bundle of campness that is Jamie Watson who told us, "he really didn't want to dance".
The fantastic Dame Connie Conway was next up - Connie must be the longest performing "overnight success" on the circuit. The fabulous Miss Jennie Castell (and lump) stormed the room with some real show-stoppers ending with Bohemian Rhapsody... no mean feat for a solo singer.
Bringing up the rear was Cassidy Connors who soon starts rehearsals for Priscilla Queen of the Desert in the new year. We wish Cassidy all the best with her first featured west end part. Lola closed the evening with a raffle and a big thank you to all the businesses who gave prizes for the raffle and auction. the sound was by Kamp Kevin with Marc, Patric, Janet and Britany behind the bar. A great night for a great cause!
