With new music at Amsterdam (their launch of R&B nights on Wednesdays and Nineties/pre-club music on Saturdays in December) expectations were high. Assistant Manager Alex clearly enjoyed himself on the microphone far too much. Barman Mike and G-Scene editor James heated the crowds after midnight with sexy dance shows, champagne for all after midnight and the presence of many ever so hardcore clubbers made it a night to remember!

New Year's Eve 2003 (9 stories)
Brighton Rocks? Storm? Charles Street? Envy? Soixante Neuf? What have these places got in common? Well, we visited them all for New Year, that's what.

NYE pre-club wander
photos by James BrooksStarting at Brighton Rocks, preparations were in place for a very busy New Years Eve. The DJ mysteriously had a lemur growing out of his head. Sadly, I was unable to clone myself into four (who said 'thank heavens'?).

Storming into 2004!
photos by James BrooksSo, first on our list and the place to see New Year in was Storm, and at £5 entry (no rip-offs here) we find the place packed and ready to party.

2004 already a Legend!
photos by James BrooksAfter the poppers popping, the midnight snogs, a copious amount of beer, we still wanted more...

The connection is made
photos by Mark BrockThe connection, that is, between Charles Street and Envy. What a fantastic night! A great DJ line-up (including the superb Mark Bambach), music to suit everyone and superb venue decoration. New Year's Eve really showed the full potential of the venue.

Simon? Was that you?
photos by Si DentonA disk appeared on my doormat this morning. No name. Just had "NYE 03/04" scrawled on it. I think it might be from Simon, but I don't know. I've put it together with Wilma's photos from the same event for your delectation.

More from Envy
photos by Mark AndrewsMark was wondering around with his camera and shares his albeit slightly hard-edged pics with us here...

Action and Beyond!
photos by Glyn JacksonGlyn and Neil ventured into London to see in 2004 at Action and then Beyond in Vauxhall (along with much of Brighton it seems?). 15 hours of continuous clubbing later - and they were still ready for more!

Taking photos while you're working doesn't work
photos by Tim NashIn fact, it works so badly that these few pathetic snaps are all I got. But I *know* you want to see them... ;o)
