Tonight was the launch of a brand new monthly comedy night to hit Brighton - the Ministry of Laughs promises cutting edge comedic talent from around the corner and around the country every second Sunday of the month.

Compere, Mike Manera introduced the acts, starting off with Robert White who was followed by Bethany Black and the evening was rounded off by Lorraine Bowen.

Of course, the beauty of comedy nights such as this is the step into the unknown - will an act win over the crowd, or will there be tears before laughter before bedtime.

I won't spoil the plot to that little conundrum - you had to be there to know!

The next Ministry of Laughs is on Sunday 10th May.
