Once again, an impressive number of people turned up to show support and raise funds for Stonewall with a 10km sponsored walk around Brighton.
The route, devised by Brighton's very own BLAGSS, started at the Pavilion Gardens, where picnic hampers and rugs dotted the lawns, stilt walkers, jugglers, facepainters and a jazz trio kept everyone entertained. The Major & Mayoress of Brighton and Brian Paddick cut the ribbon before walkers took in the sights of Brighton on a course that ran along the seafront to Hove, back to Kemptown and ending up at the after-party at Legends' Basement Club.
The event raised a phenomenal £53,000 for the organisation. Well done to all the walkers (including our very own Huw, Lola Lasagne and Dulcie Danger) and everyone involved in making this event such an annual success.
loved it!
Stonewall have done so much to help us to gain our Equality, but there is still much to be done. Their campaign to help stop bullying in the schools needs everybody to get behind it because this is where so many gay people have there first experience of homophobic bullying.Stonewall Equality Walk is a good way of helping them to raise the funds helping they need to carry on their good work. It is also a great fun day day to meet old and new friends.
