What better way to spend a Sunday than climbing on board a bike and taking to the road with 30,000 or so other people for the London to Brighton bikeride?
There is much fun to be had along the way - with plenty of pubs and a seemingly endless number of official refreshment stops with homemade cakes, sandwiches and bacon rolls - all of which raise funds for the BHF so you needn't feel too guilty about going back for seconds!
And of course there's even a chance you might spot someone else in a pair of cycling shorts along the way. Steve. Steve? Has anyone seen Steve...?
The weather was just about perfect once you got moving - which was easier said than done in parts due to the sheer number of bikes on the sometimes narrow roads. But despite the stopping and starting we still managed a very respectable 12 hours from start to finish.
Wait. Apparently that's not very respectable! But we all had a lot of fun and even raised a few quid for the British Heart Foundation - which is obviously what it's all about!
I had to remove the photo of Shteve eating a melted mars bar which was all wrong.
Apparently the idea is to do it in costume next year...
