Described as "the nearest thing the UK has to Armistead Maupin", author and journalist Paul Burston breezed into Brighton on June 28 for a fun-filled afternoon at Prowler, where he signed his latest book - the Gay Divorcee - and joked with customers.

A portion of the proceeds of his highly acclaimed new book - which follows on from his successful Star People, Lovers and Losers, and Shameless - goes to the Albert Kennedy Trust which was set up to support homeless LGBT people.

With wine and nibbles on offer for the afternoon at this popular St James Street store, the event soon turned into a highly enjoyable party - for both customers and staff - and Paul expressed his delight at the warm reception he received.
