With a big silver trophy and the honour of being Brighton's cleverest pub quiz team up for grabs, it was every team for themselves tonight in Charles Street!
The REALBrighton Pride Pub Quiz is in its second year, and once more was graciously supported by Charles Street who provided the venue complete with lighting and sound engineer Lil Alex and by Dave Lynn who, luckily didn't have swine flu. The same couldn't, unfortunately, be said for Lola Lasagne who was busy trying to recover from it in time for the weekend, but huge thanks to Dame Connie Conway for stepping in at the last minute as our fabulous quizmistress!
Twelve teams battled it out for the prize, raising £225 for Pride as they did so. REALBrighton's Bad Pam was on hand to make sure no-one was cheating and the lovely Huw greeted the teams and took their money!
I haven't got the notes from the evening in front of me, but it was one of the two Brighton Gay Men's Chorus teams that walked away with the cup, beating the Amsterdam team by just half a point. Congratulations! We also think it worth pointing out that this is now the third time running that the Amsterdam team has come a very close second... poor sods!
We're looking forward to the next quiz already and hope to see as many of you back for more as possible!
