It's easy to think that to create a street party all you need to do is import a few railings add a handful of security and wait for the crowds to arrive... this really couldn't be further from the truth!

A Community Involvement Team was set up in 2008 to plan the event in meticulous detail, talking to the relevant authorities and ensuring that the party was safe, fun and went without a hitch! Most licensed businesses in the closure area contributed financially towards the costs involved in the street closure.

Tens of thousands of people passed through the St James Street party area over the weekend, enjoying some outside drinking, enjoying a bit of jazz in the New Steine, having a dance to the great music, miandering between the pubs and generally having a lovely time!

Congratulations to everyone involved in making it all happen! A huge success by any standards!
