There's one sure way to beat a hangover on Christmas morning… the sea! I don't think I've ever been as cold… but I certainly feel like I deserve my Christmas Lunch today!

The water… well it's cold. But I guess that should have been expected. The crowd, however, were all warm and smiley - and as one dipper pointed out, the fact that you can't feel anything from your knee down makes walking back up the pebbles much easier.

For the hardy swim club who brave the water every day of the year this was a glorious day for a swim… for the rest of us - we were very glad of the sunshine… and to take more than ten or fifteen strokes whilst continuing to remember to breathe was just about all we could manage!

A big thank you for the kindness of a random stranger with a hip flask of brandy which was most extremely welcome when we emerged! And thanks to Ben for the photos!
