James Ledward was joined by the Mayor of Brighton (Councillor Ann Norman) as well as friends and interest parties to celebrate the launch of the Rainbow Fund and to mark Gscene's 15th birthday in the Motecarlo VIP Room at tonight's Red Party.

The Rainbow Fund at Sussex Community Foundation is a charitable fund for the benefit of the Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender community in Brighton & Hove, and to help maintain the Brighton & Hove AIDS Memorial.

After successfully signing off the fundraising for the AIDS Memorial, Sussex Community Foundation have agreed to convert the fund into a more general fund to enable the community to raise money for the LGBT voluntary sector and for HIV/Aids organisations - especially those that struggle to get grants from the statutory funders at present.

Five trustees will be appointed to oversee the grants process.
