Brighton has a new monthly Sunday nighter and we're hoping you're going to agree that it's something a bit special.

Swoon took over the KooKlub and filled it with stunning make-up, costumes, music and performance… Billed as a night for "gays and lesbians, boy and girl indies, emos, fashionistas, drags, genderbenders and all the inbetweeny-weenies", and as the night wore on and the venue got busier we found evidence of all of that, and plenty of your more common-or-garden interested punters who were up for a bit of a dance - and maybe even a bit of slap…

Upstairs in the VIP boudoir people were getting professionally seen to in all the right ways… Makeover experts were on hand to add sparkle (and more than the occasional eyelash) to guests, and there was the chance for a professional photo shoot too.

There were acrobats, a live PA from Mila Falls, music from DJs Dicky and Ms Masters who pitched the tunes perfectly for the occasion, and an endless, eye-popping stream of burlesque activities throughout the night. Hosts Joey Love and Spice were constantly on hand to make sure the evening went with a bang and effort that went into producing such an unusual night was apparent at every corner of the club.

Is Brighton ready for a night like Swoon? We hope so. We really, really hope so.
