Her milkshake brought all the boys to our very own back yard tonight as Revenge was in lockdown with security, management and roadies descending on the club to prepare the way for the arrival of Kelis!
Having an international Grammy award winning globalsupermegastar stopping in to sing her latest chart hit is obviously quite a coup and it was a military operation for the club to get Kelis in and out tonight. The reported list of must-haves for the dressing room undoubtedly befitted her diva status though her presence on stage was much more warm and friendly, and the music that eventually sprang from her mouth was gorgeous!
She sang through a medley of five crowd-pleasing numbers proving, as if it needed proving, that she's really quite a good singer... she's sold over three million albums so this may be a bit of an understatement! She'll undoubtedly have found her new disciples amongst the Revenge crowd tonight. Unsurprisingly, in a whirlwind of security, she was whisked out of the building to head off for another gig in London, leaving a few die-hard fans hoping to meet her with unsigned t-shirts (there was no meet-and-greet promised tonight, though Alexandra Burke will be on hand for some one-on-one loving as advertised) but leaving everyone who'd managed to catch a glimpse of the performance with a little skip in their step.
As sneakily-previewed a couple of weeks ago on REALBrighton, Revenge has now officially opened its Box Bar upstairs and… well… it's absolutely stunning. The walls are made up of banks of multicolour LEDs and the ensuing light-shows that explode around you are just mind-blowing! Even the hardest of hardcore London clubbers will find it hard not to be impressed with Brighton's latest dancefloor… We LOVE!
