We're not entirely sure how Revenge keeps pulling these huge names out of the bag, but we're not complaining! Tonight - and I had to read the listing on REALBrighton twice before I believed it - Alexandra Burke was due to perform a live PA of six tracks.
And she did.
OMG. OMFG!
Being the down to earth girl that this X-Factor-winner-turned-international-superstar still somehow is, she has no problem getting Wembly-sized crowds eating out of the palm of her hand - but this evening she was as instantly likeable in front of the relatively cosy Revenge audience. "My goodness! I have not seen a crowd like this in a very long time! Jesus!", she beamed at the gathered masses (and there were masses - people had been queuing outside and piled to the front of the stage as soon as the doors had opened to get a front-row view... the atmosphere was hot, sticky and exciting!).
Screams went out, hands were straight up in the air and camera-phones went into overdrive and... ladies and gentlemen... Alexandra Burke!
All Night Long
, the latest single from Alexandra's number one album, was bloody brilliant, and if smoking was still allowed indoors then there would undoubtedly have been lighters flicked open for the chorus of Hallelujah
- which... well it was every bit as good as you might have imagined. The final chorus of Bad Boys
had everyone screaming for more as security guided her expertly through the doors and over to the bar to sign some autographs.
Although security was understandably tight around the superstar (REALBrighton wasn't allowed to get too close with our camera, but we think we've still brought you some lovely shots all the same!) tonight's VIPs got a personal meet-and-greet, and there were plenty of smiling fans brandishing signed flyers as she was whisked out of the building.
It really doesn't get much better than that.
Congratulations to the everyone on the well oiled (and perhaps slightly sweaty) Revenge team for orchestrating such a great night.
