With three months or so of heats and live finals behind us, the night was finally upon us… The Q Factor Finals!
After a last minute smoke to calm their nerves, the mentors made their way to their seats and the fabulous Tammy Twinkle got the evening under way introducing them - who, with the exception of the chest-infected Marc, each sang a number for us.
There were only three acts remaining… and, obviously, only one would walk away with the impressive bundle of prizes including £400 cash, a photo shoot courtesy of Kodak Express, a recording studio session courtesy of Alt Recordings and a paid booking at the Queen's Arms!
Each of the acts was asked to sing their favourite track of the competition plus "Could It Be Magic", and each did a great job. James Ravenhill gave us "Oh What A Circus", Kirsty Bates brought us Michael Jackson's "Beat It" and Gilly B gave a great performance of "All That Jazz".
In true X Factor style, there were two votes tonight - the first being to vote off your least favourite act of the three. Kirtsty, mentored by Betty, lost out on this vote leaving Marc with the remaining two acts for the final show-down.
After a quick, fabulous "Seasons in the Sun" sung by some of the previously voted off finalists, Gilly and James battled it out for first place. And the winner of the Q Factor 2010, after another public vote of course, was… James Ravenhill. James was suitably chuffed with his prize and gracious with his thanks and praise of the other acts in the competition.
We've got a sneaky suspicion that the Q Factor will be back again next year, but in the meantime keep a close eye on the Queen's Arms listings for details of the next QA competition: Pride's Got Talent.
