The sauna might not be the first place you'd think of for a night of cabaret and fundraising - but tonight the boys at the Brighton Sauna laid on a fantastic evening's entertainment with the aim of raising as much as possible for the Sussex Beacon hospice.

Davina Sparkle is, I don't think she'd mind me saying, the queen of the shaggy dog story - and has a song for every occasion (not always the song she was anticipating singing - but it didn't seem to worry her too much)… the gathered men-in-towels enjoyed Davina's own take on songs like Bobby's girl, Chicago and a few of my favourite things…

And the acts just kept on coming… next up were Topping & Butch who, if you've never seen them, are an absolute riot. They slipped in a few old favourites (Be Our Guest), and a few songs perfect for the occasion such as "Something a little safer-sexy" Condoms Are a Girl's Best Friend… Love, love, love Topping and Butch and it was a treat to have them in such an intimate setting tonight. Line of the night? "My mother always taught me never to touch the finger buffet at a fisting party."

The raffle was next - with loads of DVDs, books, and other prizes donated by the likes of Prowler and Cardome and other generous local LGBT businesses, before the two (yes, count'em, TWO) strippers took to the stage to demonstrate that two straight men can take each others clothes off and still not look gay!

Huge congratulations to the sauna team for a great night which raised over £600 for the Sussex Beacon!
