All Day Fundraiser!...
review When a venue is popular on a Sunday for its afternoon cabaret slot, you can only begin to guess how busy it was for a whole day of cabaret! The afternoon kicked off with a speech from Pride Chair David Harvey followed by the first slot from the glamorous host herself, Ms Lola Lasagne. There was a whole host of talent on stage from the likes of Phil Starr, Dave Lynn, Jacque Plunkett, Maisie Trollette to name but a few who kept the eager crowd entertained for hours. With the Pride team standing guard at every entrance and exit with collection buckets plus a raffle the whole day should be classed as a huge success as the total amount raised was a staggering £1,632.34! Hats off to the bar staff who were smiling the whole day under the constant bombardment of thirsty punters and the whole Legends team for hosting this fantastic event.
A big thankyou to Cherryl Jenkin (general manager of the New Europe) and Geoff Tourle (editor of 3Sixty magazine) for providing the photos and words for this event. See the June issue of 3Sixty for a feature spread on the story!
