REALBrighton review

Toy dogs, working dogs, hounds, old dogs, young dogs, new tricks, fancy dress, couples and, my personal favourite, the dog with the waggiest tail!

If there wasn't a category for your dog then I'll eat my hat... no... wait... I think it's over there being chewed on by the Prettiest Bitch.

I'm not really a dog person myself, but managed not to get bitten or, worse still, licked... The dogshow was a roaring... er... barking success, with some very serious and some not-so-serious owners providing great entertainment.

Kitten proved that cats and dogs can get along just fine by providing some much-needed celebrity judgement for some of the novelty categories. Phil Starr also put in a few rounds as well as auctioning off that Choccywoccydoohdah (spelling, anyone?) dog which looked FAR too good to eat. Yum.

Although the rain held off, the wind sent a few people scurrying for their cars after their class had finished, which was a bit of a shame. Nevertheless we had a bloody fabulous afternoon. It's just SO Brighton, darling.

Thanks to all the Pride volunteers for staffing the event and making it another Pride day to remember! Hoorah!

The start of the afternoon's antics. These were the photos shot between noon and 2pm by your slightly apprehensive REALBrighton photographer... DOWN boy.

More photos from the day, including the novelty classes: Best fancy dress is good for a laugh, dog that looks most like the judge (?!), and Kitten getting mauled. Bloody good sport she was too!
