If I'd been sat on a seat then I'd have been on the edge of it, but as it was I was kneeling in a pool of cider that Dave Lynn had thrown on the floor. Without a doubt, the loudest and most supportive bunch were the lasses from the Candybar. They were on their feet screaming in unison every time their candidate, Mich, answered correctly.
With a few brief interludes of music from Tony B (is he moonlighting again?) we were down to Pat from the Bedford Tavern, Snowy from the Marine Tavern and the aforementioned Mich. A bit of tactical voting saw the back of one of the strongest links of the game... Pat was dismissed to the audience to much Booing from her team at the unfair vote!
Down to the last few questions and Snowy managed to keep his cool and pipped Mich to the post. Steve from the Marine Tavern was cheering on the Candy Bar, because he'd promised Mich an extra £100 if he won, not expecting it to happen obviously!
Well done to the contestants, and to the sparkly efforts of all the artistes involved in the production! And, of course, to the Pride volunteers for ensuring that it all raised money for a good cause...
