The Revenge Cabaret Tent...
review
Lo-la, Lo-la, Lo-la...
The chant was insistent, the atmosphere electric and the acts... just awesome. The afternoon in the Revenge Cabaret Tent was astoundingly good. It's difficult to describe just how good it was without gushing. By the time it came to pull the plug on the show, the crowd were putty in Lola's hands, hanging on her every word and enjoying every last second of the event before heading home. It was something very, very special.
We asked Lola to give us a few words about her afternoon in tent:
"I'm not sure words are necessary as the photos themselves tell the story so well about the INCREDIBLE atmosphere throughout the day.
Having said that, the ovation Maisie received and watching well over 1,000 people singing along to 'Bohemian Rhapsody' with the Dame Edna Experience will stay with me for a long time.
The combination of the heat, vodka, Champagne and pure exhilaration made the last 40 mins a bit of a blur. So thank you to Sam for the photos and everybody in Brighton the following day, for filling in the blanks on my drunken ramblings - oh the shame! Big apologies to the Pride Board, and Wilde Ones for running over time!
But enormous thanks to ALL the artistes - the real stars of the day. To my backstage people, Helen & Adrian for keeping me sane & upright! Arena Entertainments (sound), Aloe Petal, KAVE theatrical suppliers(backdrop) and most importantly, Michael & James at REVENGE for their sponsorship. I hope everyone enjoyed the day and roll on next year!"

Pride in Preston Park
Early estimates are that over 125,000 people turned up to Preston Park to enjoy the sunshine, to soak up the atmosphere and to show support for the LGBT community in Brighton and Hove.

Roaming the park
photos by Sam Milford & Mark Brock
The park was packed. Packed with party people enjoying the unique atmosphere, drinking, eating, buying trinkets and... we... queueing for the loos. Not wanting to wait in line, I headed off to the edge of the park, only to discover that there was even a queue for the bushes...

Ah the blessings tent! What better way to celebrate your big Gay Day Out than being eternally bound to your one true love? An intimate ceremony? Well, as intimate as it gets with a ceremony that is set against a backdrop of a very full Preston Park in the heat!
