Pac Man vs Horn Dog...
review Throughout the Pride weekend Brighton was bubbling away with numerous house & Ibiza-style music club nights, but tucked away in Kemp Town an urban melting pot was occurring as Brighton’s first homo hop/electroclash night warmed-up for action at the Hanbury Ballroom. The night was a real mix of urban style music as Horn Dog and the Pac Man posse took to the decks for a friendly face-off.The forward-thinking promoters laid on a plethora of live acts to appear with fast-rising Brightionians Mula on stage showcasing their Machine Funk; the UK’s hottest leading gay rapper QBoy, whose cute and cocky attitude added spice to an already hot night; and with five top DJs lined up this night was set to be a tasty concoction. After starting the night at the Brighton Rocks street party with Dirty Vegas, we joined the mixed crowd of funky guys and girls waiting to get into the Hanbury. Inside were a wide mix of people – gay, straight, fashion kids and many more who'd turned up just cos they love their music and live gigs. The music was a great mix of 80s electro with contemporary tracks and a bit of hip hop thrown in for extra flavour. As a relatively new night and an alternative to the usual scene it was good to hear that Horn Dog has been so well received at the newly refurbished Audio, especially since the demise of other promising alternative nights. As with any new night it’s still being nurtured but any hungry hounds out there after an alternative night or just something different you’ll definitely find this night delectable. It’s certain you’ll enjoy a night with such energy and talent behind it. You can expect a real feast of music with big things yet to come from these guys!
