So did any one vote in the local elections last night or is it for u a case of "don't vote - it only encourages them?". A dj sprinkled dinner party earlier this week saw us talking more bins and parking than Iraq and cash for honours. Whilst our Andrea enjoyed her first vote yesterday I couldn't help but think how dull democracy must seem. The debate had not been had, though our recycling bins are a little heavier this week thanx to a plethora of 'vote for me' leaflets. Would Pankhurst have been proud of us I wondered?
So did you exercise your democratic right or is the only cross your gonna put in a box this week a football kit clad one at the Wag's May Ball?

Too right I voted! Everyone I know moans about all three of the above issues with frightening regularity and it's plain dumb to then not try and do something about it at the ballot box on the rare chances we get. Although I didn't end up going Green, I'm kind of chuffed B&H council has ended up with six more of 'em on the benches.
Enough politics, let's boogie :-)

Hi Guyz,
read more, they have come a long way since wind farms and organic broccoli ...
Yes, I voted by post last week so with any luck the Royal Mail should deliver my ballot paper in a few weeks time! Local elections are always a bit 'quirky' as the public do vote for varied issues from parking to wheelie bins. I agree it's good to see the Green's gaining ground in our City...
As for Emily Pankhurst being proud of us? I can see her now chained to the railings of Sunday Sundae demanding to be let in!
Mr Kemp get your bolt cutters out ...

I don't care what party you belong to mr/mrs/ms councillor, just listen to the people of Brighton and Hove and action what you hear and you'll be voted back in, it's not rocket science ...
This council believes in Fines Fines and more Fines, oh and lets fleece them for higher council tax too ... they're a joke ..
Now thats off my chest ... i'm going for a lie down before Sunday Sundae, Wild Fruit and Rebel ... see you when I wake up on Wednesday ...

I have to add that I can understand why people don't bother to vote... Endless leaflets saying the same things, one after another, from all the major parties (and some smaller ones), just full of rhetoric and some vague and empty promises. Voter disillusion is rife for good reason!
