Blog Christmas 2006

Well as the advent is almost consumed, the sellotape sought and the bloody scissors still remains AWOL I’m in a reflective mood. It’s Christmas time and all is good. But then 2006 was (more or less) all good. It’s been a year of peeks and troughs and not just the basslines. First there has been the joy of a new family – big love to all those who’ve open their arms, provided protection and welcomed big time our new addition. We couldn’t of done it without you. Then there’s been the wordsmithing. I’ve interviewed bears, drag queens, dj’s, black angels, promoters, volunteers and workers, artists, the mature, fashion addicts, movers and makers. Thanx to every one who made the words come easy and inspired this wildblood to keep the readers of Gscene, Dj and M Magazine inspired, informed and in touch. There’s the furry ones. Cuddles uniting us (although they’ve been unbearable since their Gscene debut.) Seems the fame has gone to their fur. And of course there’s been the Real Brighton crew. Thanx for keeping it all in focus – even when I wasn’t.

And there’s been the clubbing. From dark winter mornings to sun filled terrace to a proud as fuck August weekend it’s been one hell of a year. Big, big love to all who made it happen. Paul, Vicky, Sean, Emma, Chris, Dulcie, Verity, Alistair, Yakov, the crews / sound ones at Audio, Brighton Pride, Creation, KooKlub, Charles St and Revenge and of course those soundtrack providers Dulcie, Richard, Pete, Neil, Keren, Thomas, Hollie, Paul, Seamus, Riki, Jeffery, Miss Annik, Guy and Andy. Thank you. The speakers don’t deserve you. And of course there are the clubbers. The grins, the sweet things you say when I play, the requests you make. Every single one is appreciated. Honest. And finally there’s the family. Our ‘A’ you are a diamond. How glad are we that your part of us? Thanx doll. And to my regal missus? It’s been an “interesting” year to say the least but we’re making it through. You are my star. And with you by my side I hope we never stop shining.
